This activity is a lovely way for pupils to gather information on sleep in the 16th/17th century and today. There are a range of sources, printouts, and images that children can use either in digital or paper formats.

Sleepy Books can include sleepy food recipes, information on sleepy ingredients and techniques from the 16th and 17th century.

Paper Sleepy Books

Equipment you will need:

• Thick white cartridge paper – 3 A4 sheets per book
• Scissors
• Ribbon – preferably in sleepy pastel colours
• Glue sticks
• The print outs of old botanical from the sleepy collage activity also in these Sleeping Well schools’ resources
• The printable recipe cards from these resources

Digital Scrap Books

This PowerPoint has been designed to cater for schools whose children have access to iPads or other digital devices and would prefer to make a digital version.
