This session is delivered by our experienced facilitators, in costume. Pupils will explore the Grade 1 listed Ordsall Hall by stepping back in time to help to prepare for a Tudor celebration feast. As the Radclyffe family and their servants prepare for the celebration, pupils will help them and will get an insight in to what Tudor homes were like.
There will be hard work to do in the kitchen, Great Chamber and Star Chamber as well as a dance to learn in the Great Hall! Our facilitators will help your class to learn about Tudor celebrations, food and homes as well as discovering how different life was for rich and poor people during the period.
You class will be split in to two groups for some of the day.

Full Day Session
Full day sessions run 10am – 2.15pm (approx), with 45 mins allocated for lunch.
During lunch you are more than welcome to explore the house and / or grounds and may be especially interested in the Frederic Shields Gallery which is not part of the session.
