About The Session

This session is delivered by our experienced facilitators, in costume. Pupils will explore the Grade 1 listed Ordsall Hall and find out what life might have been like for the Radclyffe family and their servants during Tudor times. Pupils will explore the kitchen, bedrooms and Great Hall and have the chance to play with some Tudor toys.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session learners will:

  • Have found out about Tudor homes and compared them to homes in the present day.
  • Have played with Tudor toys and compared them to toys in the present day.
  • Be able to identify differences between ways of life at different times.
  • Be able to identify differences between the way of life of rich and poor people in Tudor times.

Timings

Half Day Session

Half day sessions run 10am – 12pm or 1-3pm, with the option to extend your visit by staying for lunch or doing teacher-led activity in our spaces.
