These activities are based on the Painting in the Victorian Galley called The Visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Consort to Peel Park by GEO Hayes.
Starter Activity - The senses
Spend a few minutes looking closely at the painting and take in all that is happening. Imagine you are there in the scene. Write down what you can hear, what you can see, what you can smell.
Plenary Activity - Writing
Download the worksheet provided. Write a diary entry or a newspaper report on the Royal event.
