These activities are based on a painting in our Victorian Gallery called Il Madonnajo (The Image Dealer) by Keeley Halswelle.
Starter Activity - Setting the Scene
Imagine that you are part of the picture. Think about the following questions and write down your answers.
- What can you see?
- What can you hear?
- What can you smell?
Give reasons for your answers.
Plenary Activity - Writing
Pick one person from the picture to focus on and use your imagination to write a few sentences about them. Questions you could consider are:
What are they doing there?
What are they thinking?
What are their opinions of the other people in the picture?
